Overview

At The Shepherd’s Hands Foundation, our programs are designed to meet immediate needs while creating long-term solutions. We combine housing, emergency assistance, and workforce development with skills training and financial literacy to help individuals and families move from instability to independence.

Our approach is holistic. We don’t just provide resources, we provide pathways that restore dignity, build confidence, and create opportunities for a brighter future.

Housing & Emergency Assistance

Stability begins with a safe place to call home.

In communities across Columbus, Ohio and Reynoldsburg, Ohio, many seniors and adults with developmental delays face the challenge of finding affordable, stable housing. The Shepherd’s Hands Foundation helps bridge that gap by connecting individuals with secure and supportive living environments.

Our Housing and Emergency Assistance Program offers:

• Access to affordable housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income residents.

• Emergency resources such as food, hygiene items, and household essentials.

Case management and ongoing guidance to help residents maintain stability.

When emergencies arise, we respond quickly to prevent homelessness and hunger. By addressing these critical needs first, we give individuals a solid foundation to rebuild their lives with confidence and dignity.

Financial Literacy & Economic Empowerment

Empowering individuals to make confident financial decisions.

Financial security is a key step toward independence. Through our Financial Literacy Program, we provide workshops and one-on-one guidance to help participants understand how to manage their money and plan for the future.

Our classes, offered in Reynoldsburg and throughout Central Ohio, cover:

• Budgeting and saving strategies for everyday living.

• Understanding credit and reducing debt.

• Building long-term financial goals for self-sufficiency.

• Accessing local financial resources and community partners.

This program gives participants the tools they need to move beyond short-term survival and into long-term financial stability. We believe that financial education not only improves individual lives but also strengthens the greater Columbus community.

Workforce Development & Job Readiness

Creating opportunities through career training and skill development.

For many adults, employment is more than a paycheck; it’s a pathway to purpose and independence. The Shepherd’s Hands Foundation offers Workforce Development programs that prepare individuals for sustainable careers in Central Ohio’s growing industries.

We partner with local businesses, training centers, and employers to offer:

• Resume writing and interview preparation.

• Hands-on job training and certification programs.

• Connections to job placement and ongoing career coaching.

• Soft skills training, including communication and workplace etiquette.

Our goal is to help participants not only find a job but also build a meaningful career that supports self-sufficiency and pride. By working closely with employers in Columbus and Reynoldsburg, we help create employment pipelines that benefit both workers and the local economy.

Skills Training & Employment Support

Equipping individuals with the tools to build a better future.

Through our Skills Training & Employment Support initiative, we help participants gain real-world experience and practical knowledge to thrive in today’s workforce. Whether someone is re-entering the job market, exploring new career options, or seeking additional skills, we meet them where they are.

Our training focuses on:

• Developing technical and trade-based skills relevant to Central Ohio industries.

• Enhancing digital literacy, including computer and technology basics.

• Providing mentorship and ongoing career development support.

• Partnering with local employers for apprenticeship and on-the-job training opportunities.

Located in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, we proudly serve residents across Columbus and surrounding areas who are ready to grow, learn, and achieve independence.
